Rough luck, Sailor!
I am embarking on two projects:

1) Quickly scan in all available prints I have available until I can get a hold of a professional quality scanner for negatives.

2) Learn and use Linux, specifically, Kubuntu.

The whole looking for work thing is not conducive to avoidance of mind atrophy. Here, Squire!

Because I think the only reason I'm sticking with Windows is safety. And realization is the first step to a total cure!

Kubuntu, because I used Arch Linux before and it had KDE on it, so I'm used to KDE. Chose Ubuntu distribution because it's fairy new and is based on Debian, of which I have read many positive things over the years.

Linux, because it is fast and free and stable and interesting.
